Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are lay men and women who may assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and also to the sick and homebound when ordinary ministers of communion (priests and deacons) are unavailable.
All ministers of Holy Communion must be Catholics in good standing, living in harmony with the teachings of the Catholic Church and thus able to receive the Eucharist. They should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread or wine.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are needed at all of our weekend Masses and daily Masses, Holy days and special occasions as needed.
We are always in need of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to take the Eucharist to the sick and homebound. Please consider making this a part of your ministry by volunteering to bring the Eucharist to one of our parishioners in need.
If you would like more information or would like to volunteer in this ministry, please contact the Cluster office at 757-484-7335 or email Shaylyn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
